8 Random Facts About Me

Just Me

As I get more acquainted with this whole blogging process, I find myself ‘tagged’. My brother Mike at www.smugbaldy.com, has listed me as one of his lucky 8 … and now I am inclined to follow directions.

First, the rules:

• We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
• Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
• People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
• At the end of your blog post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
• Don’t forget to leave them each a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

So, here we go … 8 random things about me:

• Fact: I am spacial. In other words, I am very aware of my environment and surroundings. I take in the order of things, the color scheme, the amount of certain objects, how light enters a room. I’m constantly trying to elevate the comfort level of my personal spaces. I’m all about cozy, I use music, colors, fabrics, lighting and scents to to make it happen.

• Fact: I can hang. I have incredibly varied friends. I can have a good time with lots of different kinds of people. From my age, to older, to way younger … it seems I can relate to just about anyone. Rich, poor, director, student, addict, dancer, waitress, mother, musician, vagabond, chef, actor, boat captain, crazy scientist … I’ve befriended them all. I guess I like people.

• Fact: I am incomplete without animals. Cats, dogs, horses, whatever is fuzzy and warm … I like them all. I grew up with the coolest Beagle, Scooter, and he taught me all about unconditional love. I followed up with a pair of cats, Tasha and Radar, that I couldn’t have loved more, but they passed anyway. The bond and friendship with a pet is unlike anything else … and it’s something I really wish I had in my life now.

• Fact: I have mad cooking skills! It must run in the family, but I swear, I was Rachael Ray before she was. I grow fresh herbs and vegetables and often use them in my dishes. I like the idea of umami, the savory … I wish I could entertain more often and show off.

• Habit: I’m honest. Brutally at times. I cannot tell a lie, my opinion is always written all over my face. This gets me into trouble. I thought it was a good thing to be honest… well, it’s true: you can’t handle the truth! Over the years, I’ve learned tact, which has helped a lot. So, I apologize in advance: I’m probably going to offend you eventually.

• Fact: I like to have at least 15 minutes of quiet in the morning. I’m better when I can have a cup of coffee, wake up slowly and ease into my day. I’ve done it the other way and frankly, I don’t care for it.

• Habit: I’m a ball-breaker. I seem all nice and quiet when you first meet me, but really, I’m just sizing you up. If I think you have a sense of humor, you’ll be my mark eventually. I can take it as well as I give it … it’s something I learned from being the youngest of 7 kids. Survival is hilarious.
