Random Facts

I’m pretty random at times, in fact, I like randomness as often as it chooses to pop up. In the spirit of being unpredictable, here’s a few random facts about me:

  • I like trying new things, eating something I’ve never tasted before, going down roads just to see where they go.
  • I’m really into scents. I have a really sensitive nose, so I like to put nice smelling things under it. Some of my faves: clean laundry, grass, rain, sea air, wet dog, hay & manure, a new book, sauteed garlic & onions.
  •  I think I’m smarter than most people. I’m probably not (I’m being  modest), but more than likely, I probably am.
  •  I write for my own personal pleasure. It’s like free therapy.
  • I like to make things from scratch. Lemonade from a mix? No way! Squeeze some lemons already, it’s not that hard. Bread, soup, sauce, cakes, dips, everything from scratch.
  • I have nice hands and fingernails, thanks to my Mom. Long fingers and well-shaped  nails, it’s genetic.-
  • I wish I had a pet.
  •  I love taking baths.
  • I’m one of the few GOOD FEMALE drivers. We are few and far between, but most of us suck royally.
  • I curse loudly and profanely at all bad drivers, no matter what sex.
  • I like ambient music. Some of the best music doesn’t have words. It helps me focus or de-stress, good for meditation too. My fave this week: any album by Liquid Mind.
  • I wanted to be a cartoon when I was a kid. I seriously believed that what I saw on TV was just a different reality, and all I had to do was find it. I’m still looking…
  •  I don’t think I have good skin, but I’m often told that I do. I guess they don’t see me first thing in the morning, up close in the mirror. Lucky them. I’m grateful for these illusions.
  •   I love going to old graveyards and just walking around, feeling the vibe. I like checking out the names and dates on the headstones, wonder about the history…and how many bones lay beneath my feet.
  • I hate Starbucks coffee.
  •  I pay all my bills on time, all the time.
  •  I am never far away from candles and incense, I even travel with them. Sandlewood, Virgin Mary, Oceans … just some of my faves. (fyi: Mexico reeks of Virgin Mary incense, which is probably why I love it there)
  • I need to be passionate about everything I do, or I don’t really want to do it. From laundry to sex and everything in between. Passion is everything.
  •  I’m pretty good on the computer, PC or Mac.  I’ve taught myself the basics and let life teach me the rest.
  •  I try to be happy even in tough situations. It doesn’t always work, but it’s getting easier as I get older. I think it has something to do with letting go of emotion. That’s hard, I still identify with it most of the time.
  •  I read all the time. I should start a list of all the books i’ve read, there are so many…I’ve taken out the same book from the library a couple of times and didn’t realize it until a few pages in. I’m a book dork, what can I say?
  •  I’m good at untying knots. From shoelaces to knotted bags to headphone wires and hoses. I can figure out the figure 8′s and loopty-loos with great patience. It’s like a puzzle, something I enjoy. Got a knot for me? Gimme, gimme!
  •  I’d like to own the complete DVD collection of The Muppett Show. I’ve seen a few again thanks to Netflix, but I’d like to own them. Good stuff there, George Burn’s appearances were some of my favorites.
  •  I once celebrated ‘randomness day’. Apparently, it’s the day after Bonnaroo (that big 3 day concert in TN). While breaking down camp, some guy came up and greeted us with a “Happy Randomness Day” and handed us each a small gift. I got these silly glasses that had goofey eyes on them. I wore them almost all the way back to GA. See? Randomness is fun.

  1. Just read the second post of your blog and so far I can say that your writing is very authentic and lets me have a good time reading it.

looking forward for the next post I’ll be following (probably after the next five LOOOOOONg working days).

  2. Also got a huge smile out of this page! If you’re a book dork (I am too), you might try visiting http://www.goodreads.com, which some blogger put me onto (I wish I could remember where she was but she’s lost to me now). It’s awesome! You can rate all the books you’ve read, make or read lists of books that appeal to you, and share your libraries with friends. Check it out!

  3. Thank you so much for that link, I spent a good 2 hours reviewing and searching books while at the office. This morning was totally lovely and unproductive. There are so many books out there I’ve forgotten I’ve read! I AM a book dork. I look forward to delving in more. What a great find!

    Thanks for reading!
